Start with your phone
Confirm with your device maker and provider whether your phone supports the proposed SIM or eSIM and whether it is network-unlocked. Compatibility depends on the exact device and plan.
Bring your passport to buy a local SIM
In Morocco, operators must record the identity of anyone buying a prepaid SIM, and cards without it are deactivated Unconfirmed Sources.
Our advice: take your passport when you buy a SIM, and keep the receipt until the line works.
Compare the plan terms
Check the allowance, validity period, activation trigger, hotspot rules, coverage information and whether calls or texts are included. Ask what happens after the allowance runs out.
Prepare an offline backup
Save arrival instructions, important contacts and essential booking details where you can open them without a connection. Keep a second way to contact your accommodation.
Ask before purchasing
Does this plan work on my exact device? When does validity start, what is included, and what support is available if activation fails?
Go to the source
Use your device manufacturer’s compatibility guidance and the selected provider’s current written plan terms. No provider or coverage claims are independently verified here.
